Drowning in a sea of sibling squabbles?

You feel like you're in over your head.
These are the thoughts that threaten to sink you.

"I thought family time was about building relationships. Instead, they seem to enjoy tearing each other down."

"Am I the only one who can't even read aloud a chapter to the kids without them constantly picking at each other?"

"I can't spend another day listening to them yell at each other, but I have no idea what to do about it."

"I feel like I spend more time settling arguments than doing all the activities I planned for the day."

You don't need different kids. You need a better plan.

Every family deals with sibling conflict.

The difference between sinking and staying afloat comes down to these things:

Secrets to figuring out why the kids keep fighting

Strategies for managing arguments (and avoiding them!)

Tips for navigating the specific scenarios that keep resurfacing

Support from a private community to build confidence

Sibling Opposition Solution (S.O.S.) to the Rescue

You need a focused, interactive, practical, hands-on framework to build your confidence and grow your skill set for guiding the kids in your home.

Sibling interactions are the relationship lab of life. What they learn under your care will carry them and shape their social experiences long after they leave your home.

Don't just react. Have a plan.

Seize the opportunities life sends to disciple your kids in godly, healthy, positive, loving responses to conflict and disagreement.

The game changer for me wasn't finding a fix for my kids. (Seriously, who wants to be parented by someone who treats them like a problem to be fixed??) The game changer for me was learning how to connect the dots:

  • What is my role in the sibling conflict process supposed to look like?
  • How can I figure out the emotions and motives behind the fights?
  • What practical steps can I take to encourage reconciliation?
  • How does that apply to actual situations I deal with every day?

I didn't need a way to fix my kids.

I needed a confidence boost and a strategy.

And that's what I'd like to offer you.

Before I took this course, I was overwhelmed with the frequency and intensity of my children's bickering.  I am so thankful for the time I invested with Lynna in this course. I have practical tools to utilize in those heated moments when fighting is at a fever pitch and also principles I can teach and train my children in during times of peace that will serve them in their relationships now and well into the future. I really didn't expect to encounter so many ways God wants to transform me as a mom in this course. The change prompted in my own heart was the most valuable part of the whole experience.

When I first heard of this course, I thought it might help me to come up with a plan to help my daughters with conflict resolution. I struggled with their frequent bickering. Now, I look at my children's bickering at a heart level, and I have a good, Biblical "game plan" to help me to address it. I will say, though, that I didn't expect to have to address my own shortcomings as a mediator!

The Sibling Opposition Solution is a four-week, live, interactive, online course designed to give you the content you need, the tools to try it out, and the chance to ask all your questions in a safe and supportive community.

This is what's included ...

The four-week class covers four specific modules:

  • Module 1: Getting Started - A welcome and the info you'll need to use the course.

  • Module 2: Mom's Mindset - We'll talk about your role in this whole sibling conflict process, how you can really blow it ... and how you can be an inspiration for change.

  • Module 2: What to Know Before You Begin - Before we dive into the specifics, we'll survey the lay of the land. Why do those kids do what they do? And what do you need to understand about those small humans to be prepared to love them well, even when they aren't loving each other very well.

  • Module 3: Foundations of Reconciliation - We'll take an up-close look at the exact steps you'll need to guide those kids from back-alley brawling to back-in-fellowship. There are a few pieces you're probably missing.

  • Module 4: A Closer Look at Common Scenarios - Theory and philosophy are important. But we're not going to leave this at cloud-level. We'll walk through five common sibling-conflict scenarios and talk about exactly how Modules 1-3 apply in the flesh.

You can take a peek at the S.O.S. Scope and Sequence here.

The Modules are broken up into Lessons.

The course includes a total of 18 Lessons. Each Lesson includes a video with all the content you'll need to absorb to benefit from that Lesson. But, if you prefer, you can also access the course content via a printable PDF transcript, or a downloadable MP3 recording.

In addition to the basic content, you can also download printable (optional - I'm not collecting it for a grade!) extension activities to help you really dig in and think through the ideas discussed in the Lesson.

The Lessons are delivered in one-Module chunks, spaced out over the course of the four-week course duration to help you pace yourself and keep you from getting overwhelmed. A new module will be available each Friday evening so that you can get a jump start over the weekend.

All of the Lessons for one week (one Module) can be viewed back to back in an average of 30 minutes. Or, take your time and complete a Lesson a day, along with the extension activity.

The layout of a Lesson looks like this:

Works on all devices.

This course is hosted right here on the Homeschooling without Training Wheels site. No apps to download or other passwords to remember. You can watch the videos from your tablet in bed, or from your phone while you're - ahem - in the bathroom. (Don't be embarrassed; sometimes that's a mom's best chance to view a video with the volume on!)

The course and forum are mobile-adaptive and mobile-friendly, so you can fit in some sibling learning whenever you have a spot of time in your day. You can even download the lesson MP3s and enjoy the course podcast-style while you exercise or do housework.

You don't have to go this alone.

Course participants will be added to a private, state-of-the-art, off-Facebook forum hosted right here on the Homeschooling without Training Wheels server. There will be a discussion thread to correspond to every Lesson in the course and your fellow course members and I will be there to dialogue with you as you work through the material.

If I've learned one thing about parenting books and articles, it's that they can't answer you when you scream "THIS ISN'T WORKING!" Instead, you can scream at us and we'll talk you through it. ;-)

Live group-coaching focuses on your biggest challenges.

Every week during the course, you're invited to participate in a live group-coaching session. Your questions shape the agenda and we'll address any areas where you need extra help, support and encouragement.

Since taking Lynna's course, I am more consistent, seek to understand everyone’s feelings, and often avoid making swift and anger-filled judgments. Do my kids still fight? Of course! But now I’ve got some tools and resources I can turn to that point them back to Christ. I especially enjoyed the weekly live chat sessions. It made the experience more robust and gave it a community feeling.
